Kickstart your career with APC Technical Solutions! We’re looking for a full-time Trainee/Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Christchurch-based team for the South Island region. Previous experience is advantageous, however full training will be provided!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform service, repair, and assembly of industrial hose and fittings
  • Carry out on-site and in-house service calibrations, commissioning, and support for gas detection equipment
  • Provide technical input and assistance for assembly and servicing of bearings, transmissions, and gearboxes
  • Undertake actuation of flow control valves for process and industrial systems
  • Conduct steam trap inspections and efficiency testing
  • Support instrumentation setup and maintenance, ensuring accurate and reliable system performance
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to offer tailored technical solutions and support
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement and administrative task

About You:

  • Trade qualification or relevant experience in mechanical, instrumentation, or industrial services
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet
  • Experience working with industrial hose assemblies, gas detection systems, or similar technologies is preferred
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals
  • A customer-focused mindset and excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment
  • Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety practices
