Business Development Specialist – APC Technical Solutions

Are you ready to take your sales career to the next level in a role that blends technical expertise with strategic growth? We’re seeking a motivated and strategically focused Business Development Specialist to join our team of APC Technical Solutions experts at NZ Safety Blackwoods.

About the Role

You’ll play a pivotal role in driving sales and margin growth across the Auckland and Northland territory, ensuring the seamless supply of our technical solutions, products, and services. While prior experience in gas detection or mechanical services (industrial hose and flow control) is preferred, what we’re really looking for is someone who’s driven, motivated, and eager to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive sales and margin growth across Auckland and Northland.
• Support account managers by coaching and generating leads to expand customer engagement.
• Deliver impactful presentations and training sessions that highlight the value of our products and services.
• Lead strategic projects targeting specific industries, markets, and customers, including managing RFPs and contract negotiations.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies and safety standards.
• Monitor and manage the sales pipeline to maximise efficiency and opportunity tracking.
• Use our CRM tool HubSpot, and other reporting tools to report, analyse sales performance, identify and close out opportunities
• Foster collaboration and establish partnerships with other business units, leveraging their expertise for mutual success

Skills & Experience

• At least five years of relevant industry experience in technical product sales or account management.
• Demonstrated expertise in consultative sales and effective negotiation techniques.
• Proven track record in building and maintaining business relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
• Proficient in time management and adept problem-solving.
• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field - engineering/electrical (preferred)
