About the role:
The Learner Success Lead looks after our most at risk learners, and ensures that the staff at the campus are aware of how to best support these learners to see them succeed. This role focuses on:
- Supporting and mentoring tutors to build their learner success capabilities
- Providing targeted support to high-priority learners (including Māori, Pasifika, learners with disabilities, low literacy/numeracy, and Level 2)
- Collaborating with campuses to track learner progress and implement support strategies
- Leading inclusive practice and promoting equity across the board
You’ll work closely with the Head of Learner Success, Campus Managers, and teaching teams to lift learner engagement, retention, and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion equity in qualification completion across learner groups
- Ensure learners with disabilities and neurodiverse needs feel well-supported
- Equip tutors with the tools, confidence, and capability to support success
- Embed LBT/NZMA values through everyday practice and positive leadership
About You
You must be an experienced leader with an educational/training background. You will need to be a strong communicator, and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude while inspiring others to follow suit. You need to be able to connect and build relationships within your team of tutors, students and stakeholders so the ability to respect and appreciate differences and diversity is paramount. You are someone who is passionate about the academic success of students and you have a proven history of leading and empowering teams.
Key Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience in leading teams and passionate about learner success and inclusion
- A strong drive to develop others and prepare them to achieve and be successful
- Proven experience mentoring others and leading change
- High level of interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- A genuine interest in and passion for cultural diversity, learners with disabilities and/or neurodiverse conditions, and identifying strategies to ensure their success
- Group training or teaching experience in a multi-cultural environment
