The Positions

Working in Aboriginal Communities

These roles are based in remote Aboriginal communities across Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Successful candidates will work respectfully within community settings, supporting essential services and contributing positively to local outcomes.

Cultural awareness, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively within community environments are essential. All placements are with well-managed community operations, and candidates will be supported to understand expectations and responsibilities when working in these locations.

Roles include:

  • Store Managers
  • Duty Supervisors
  • Chef / Kitchen Leads
  • Relief Store Management

Roles are offered as part of a couples placement, with responsibilities allocated based on complementary skills and site needs.

These roles offer the opportunity to work together in remote community environments that are challenging, meaningful, and highly rewarding, while building strong professional experience as a team.

What Will We Do?

Depending on the role and location, couples may be placed across complementary responsibilities. Core duties include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day store or site operations
  • Leading and supervising staff
  • Stock control, ordering, and merchandising
  • Customer service and community engagement
  • Opening and closing procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with operational, safety, and company standards

These roles suit couples who bring complementary skills, such as management, commercial kitchen experience, trades or maintenance, or administration support.

What Experience Do We Need?

  • Previous experience at Supervisor or Manager level
  • Ability to work effectively together and within small remote teams
  • Flexible, resilient approach suited to remote living and work
  • Strong organisation, accountability, and leadership skills
  • National Police Checks (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid Working With Children Check (WA) or Ochre Card (NT)
  • Professional references required

Previous experience in remote or regional environments (such as community stores, roadhouses, or mining towns) is highly regarded but not essential.
