The role

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Maintenance Fitter at our site in Darwin. In this role you will be able to apply your technical expertise working in a team environment and autonomously on plant maintenance. Great opportunities for development and advancing your skills on heavy industry equipment will be provided. 

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and commitment to safety, quality and the environment
  • Accountable for carrying out mechanical repairs with a particular emphasis on planned and predictive/preventative maintenance
  • Identification of plant critical spares
  • Administrative tasks within the maintenance planning system
  • Focus on continuous improvement ideas

What you will need to succeed

  • Trade qualified (Mechanical Fitter)
  • First Aid certificate
  • Vehicle license and High Risk license including Fork lift, EWP
  • Competent at basic oxy/acetylene gas, MIG/TIG welding repairs and fabrication
  • Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics and welding
  • Computer literacy, requiring experience using maintenance planning system, SAP preferred
  • A confident, self-motivated, energetic individual
  • A team player with a high degree of trade flexibility
  • Ability to work, at times, autonomously and without direct supervision
