The Opportunity
As the Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of developing and managing broker and referral relationships while actively identifying new business opportunities across the finance and lending market.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded BDM who enjoys being on the front foot — building trusted relationships, managing active pipelines, driving conversions, and contributing to the ongoing growth strategy of the business.
You will work closely with brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service outcomes while helping grow awareness of the company’s funding solutions across the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established broker and referral partner network
- Develop new broker relationships and strategic partnerships to drive business growth
- Proactively manage pipeline activity to maximise deal progression and conversion
- Educate and support brokers to improve submission quality and approval outcomes
- Promote the company’s product suite and value proposition across the broker market
- Attend networking events and identify emerging market opportunities and trends
- Collaborate with leadership on growth strategies, sales initiatives, and forecasting
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline visibility, and reporting
- Deliver exceptional relationship management and customer service throughout the lending process
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in Business Development, Broker Management, or Relationship Management within financial services, lending, banking, or commercial finance
- Previous experience within unsecured lending, working capital, business funding, trade finance, debtor finance, or commercial lending environments is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of broker-introduced business and SME lending solutions
- Existing broker network or industry connections highly regarded
- Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and managing active pipelines
- Strong ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Highly organised with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
