Join our team supporting the Royal Australian Navy’s Minerva systems, where you’ll design, maintain, and secure complex ICT networks that keep operations connected — even in the most challenging conditions.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide specialist network support to deployed Defence ICT systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues promptly.
  • Work creatively within DDIL constraints to maintain system functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with Defence ICT security protocols.
  • Design, build, and deploy advanced network solutions.
  • Proactively patch, upgrade, and maintain Minerva systems.
  • Develop SOPs, build guides, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Defence partners and vendors to resolve incidents.
  • Mentor onsite staff and assist with training ship CIS teams.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for high-priority incidents.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Network/Gateway Engineer.
  • Hands-on expertise in:
  • Routing, switching, IPSec, VPNs, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS TE.
  • Next-gen firewalls, VoIP, enterprise WLAN, NAC, segmentation.
  • Network telemetry (NetFlow, SNMP, etc.).
  • Strong background in Microsoft (Exchange, Active Directory, Skype) and Citrix administration.
  • Experience with hypervisors and virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical writing skills.
  • Experience with SEA2273 Minerva systems.
  • Defence maritime platform ICT build and integration.
  • Familiarity with Defence network environments and secure, regulated settings.
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks, testing, and evaluation procedures.
