Adelaide | 12-Month Contract | Potential Permanent Opportunity | Fully On-Site

Join a global technology services provider and key network partner to the SA Government.

This is an opportunity to shape the target-state network architecture and guide the safe migration of critical services, working closely with the customer Project Manager and Senior Network Engineer.

The Opportunity

  • Initial 12-month contract, with potential conversion to a permanent role for strong performers.
  • Senior technical authority across architecture, design assurance and migration delivery.
  • Fully on-site across Adelaide CBD and fringe locations, including a data centre in Glenside.
  • Covered expenses for required travel between sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess the existing network across the data centre and connected sites, and define the target-state architecture.
  • Design migration sequencing, cutover and rollback plans, addressing risks to service continuity.
  • Produce high- and low-level designs, migration plans and as-built documentation aligned with SA Government standards.
  • Establish design standards for Cisco routing, switching and data centre networking, alongside Palo Alto firewall policy and segmentation.
  • Provide technical leadership to the Project Manager, agency stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Review and assure engineering work, resolving complex technical issues throughout the migration.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive network architecture experience in complex enterprise or government environments.
  • Expert-level Cisco knowledge, supported by CCIE certification or equivalent depth of experience.
  • Strong Palo Alto Networks firewall design experience; PCNSE certification is desirable.
  • Proven delivery of data centre migrations, consolidations or exits.
  • Solid experience working within SA Government environments.
  • Clear communication skills and confidence engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with integrators supporting SA Government networks, such as NEC, will be highly regarded, along with government managed services or panel arrangements and architecture governance or design authority processes.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Australian citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Current driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Availability to work 100% on-site in Adelaide.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally between sites, including transporting equipment, with expenses covered.
