We are seeking a Chief of Independent Systems Monitoring (CISM) to play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement of aviation engineering systems.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will act as the independent authority overseeing the effectiveness and compliance of the Engineering Management System (EMS). This is a unique opportunity to influence engineering standards, drive quality, and ensure regulatory excellence across a complex aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead independent monitoring and assurance of EMS compliance across AASB
• Design and deliver assurance, audit, and system-level monitoring activities
• Ensure all engineering outputs meet regulatory and technical standards
• Analyse performance metrics and report on EMS health and effectiveness
• Drive a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
• Engage with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment, delivery, and outcomes

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 8+ years within a DASR 21J (or equivalent) aviation design/certification environment
• 3+ years in quality management within aviation
• Diploma in Quality Auditing (or equivalent recognised qualification)
• Strong experience in engineering assurance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks

Highly Regarded

• Knowledge of DASR and ISO 9001 standards
• Ability to work autonomously and solve complex problems
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at senior levels
• Excellent prioritisation and time management in high-pressure environments
