Senior Platform Engineer

Open to Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design, build, and evolution of our core cloud platform capabilities. This is a hands-on role where your engineering expertise will directly shape the foundation of our new SaaS platform while integrating seamlessly with existing banking systems.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and Build: Design and implement core cloud platform capabilities from scratch, including environments, tooling, and foundational patterns.
• Collaborate and Coordinate: Work across internal and partner teams, guiding platform engineering efforts while staying hands-on for complex or critical work.
• Enable Teams: Empower application and data teams with reusable platform services, clear guardrails, and thorough technical documentation.
• Standards and Best Practices: Define and implement platform standards for Infrastructure as Code, containerization, CI/CD, monitoring, and automation.
• Operate Securely: Ensure platform solutions meet enterprise security, compliance, and operational standards.
• Bridge Technical Vision to Execution: Work closely with enterprise architecture, security, and delivery teams to translate high-level intent into scalable, operable solutions.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience: 7+ years in platform engineering or cloud infrastructure roles.
• Cloud Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services (IAM, VPC, EC2, ASG) and networking/security constructs.
• Infrastructure as Code: Experience with CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Containers & Kubernetes: Experience with EKS and container orchestration.
• CI/CD & Automation: Skilled in building pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Octopus, or similar tools.
• Monitoring & Observability: Familiar with Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, or equivalent tools.
• Scripting: Experience in Python, C#, Bash, or PowerShell.
• API Platforms: Experience with Open API, Swagger, Kong, Redocly, or Akamai.
• Enterprise Exposure: Comfortable operating in regulated, enterprise environments.
• Data Platform Awareness: Exposure to SaaS platform integrations (Oracle, SAP, Workday) and batch/data warehousing concepts.

Nice to have

• Experience writing Kubernetes controllers or operators.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
• Experience in Financial Services
