We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting critical production systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong automation background who enjoys improving operational efficiency, maintaining highly available environments, and working closely with infrastructure and development teams.

A software development background is highly regarded, as the role has a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and enhance automation solutions using Ansible and Python.
  • Support and maintain critical, high-availability production systems.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management and operational processes.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, development and operations teams to improve system reliability and resilience.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, reducing manual effort through automation.
  • Participate in incident response and support activities for mission-critical environments.
  • Ensure operational stability, performance and security of supported platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with Ansible for automation, configuration management and orchestration.
  • Strong Python programming and scripting experience.
  • Experience supporting critical production systems in high-availability environments.
  • Background in software development or previous experience as a developer is highly desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working across infrastructure and application support teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments where reliability and rapid incident response are essential.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working within enterprise or banking environments.
  • Exposure to infrastructure automation and cloud technologies.
