Project Manager Fleet

Baseline or NV1 security clearance required.

Help sustain a critical Defence capability supporting the Joint Data Network.

We are seeking an experienced Project / Fleet Manager to coordinate in-service support, oversee contractor performance and help ensure products and fleets remain fit for purpose throughout their service life.

This is a broad role for someone who can bring together capability, engineering, logistics, commercial and security stakeholders while keeping delivery, cost, schedule and risk in view.

What you’ll do

• Manage in-service support arrangements, plans, schedules and reporting, including planned and unplanned maintenance and supply support.
• Coordinate product and fleet governance, internal reviews, stakeholder engagement and contractor performance reviews.
• Maintain product cost and schedule controls, work breakdown structures, business-as-usual activities and monthly capability reporting.
• Review supplier deliverables, develop contract change proposals and support future sustainment contracts, procurement documents and statements of work.
• Identify and manage capability risks, issues and opportunities, and advise the Capability Manager on system specifications and end-user requirements.
• Coordinate engineering and logistics services in line with Defence plans and support technical and materiel certification.
• Support Authority to Operate requirements for the Joint Data Network and, where applicable, cryptographic key management and ICT accreditation.
• Oversee applicable export control, data-sharing, facility and physical security requirements.
• Lead or support the transition of new projects and platforms into service and sustainment, assessing impacts on existing capability.
• Provide subject matter advice and mentoring to product and fleet team members.

What you’ll bring

Essential:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and associated domain knowledge.
• Current, relevant fleet management experience.
• Knowledge of applicable Australian and international standards, regulations and Defence requirements and methodologies at the level required for this role.

Desirable:

• A relevant postgraduate qualification.
• A recognised program or product management qualification, such as AIPM project management registration.
• An understanding of military Command and Control technologies, including tactical data links.
• Previous CASG or Defence experience.
