Quality Manager / Deputy Chief Engineer

NV1 Security Clearance required.

We’re seeking a Quality Manager / Deputy Chief Engineer to join the Integrated Warfare Networks and Systems Program Office (IWNSPO) Sustainment Directorate within Defence’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).

You’ll play a key role in preparing the office for initial Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) certification and maintaining the performance of its Engineering Management System (EMS).

What you’ll do

• Prepare IWNSPO’s EMS for initial AEO certification and assess its ongoing performance to support continued certification.
• Develop and conduct periodic internal audits ahead of external certification activities.
• Support project and product Engineering Managers in developing Engineering Plans.
• Review Engineering Plans and other engineering artefacts for compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
• Guide teams on relevant Australian and international standards, regulations and Defence requirements.
• Lead continual improvement across engineering, logistics and cyber, including reviews before and after key activities.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be well suited to this role if you have experience in engineering quality and governance, management systems, audits and compliance reviews. You’ll be able to work with Engineering Managers across multiple projects, provide clear guidance on requirements, and turn review findings into practical improvements.
