Job no: G3MQY
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Product Owner to lead the delivery and lifecycle management of a mission-critical cards transaction switching platform operating across Azure and AWS cloud environments.
This is a pivotal role responsible for owning the technical product vision, translating complex engineering requirements into clear delivery outcomes, and ensuring platform readiness across high-volume, highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product delivery for a vendor-delivered transaction processing platform supporting high-throughput payments workloads.
- Define and maintain clear, unambiguous product requirements, user stories, and functional specifications that translate complex system behaviours into actionable backlog items.
- Lead prioritisation across competing demands including delivery urgency, architectural alignment, vendor dependencies, risk, cost, and operational readiness.
- Own technical delivery roadmaps, environment build planning, and release management across Dev, SIT, Performance, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
- Partner closely with engineering, cloud platform, architecture, and vendor teams to drive high-quality outcomes.
- Influence and challenge technical decisions to ensure compliance, resilience, security alignment, and operational fit.
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and CI/CD outcomes across internal and vendor delivery teams.
- Ensure platform observability and operational readiness, including monitoring, alerting, telemetry, dashboards, and incident preparedness.
- Own product risk, dependency management, stakeholder communication, and delivery reporting.
Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience as a Technical Product Owner or Technical Product Manager within complex, vendor-delivered platforms.
- Strong background in payments, card switching, transaction processing, or other high-volume, low-latency systems.
- Proven ability to write high-quality product requirements, system behaviour definitions, and technically detailed user stories.
- Deep experience managing multi-environment delivery and release pipelines in enterprise settings.
- Strong hands-on understanding of Azure and AWS, including:
- Environment provisioning and automation
- VNet / VPC design patterns
- Compute, storage, and networking fundamentals
- Security controls, governance, and failover design
- Experience driving Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong observability and operations knowledge, with experience using tools such as AppDynamics, CloudWatch, Grafana, OpenSearch, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in highly regulated or mission-critical environments where availability, disaster recovery, and security are non-negotiable.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams and manage complex vendor relationships.
Desirable
- Experience delivering platforms subject to regulatory, security, or compliance frameworks.
- Background working in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
- Ability to balance technical depth with clear communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
