Senior Azure Solution Architect (Data & Analytics)Remote

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Azure Solution Architect with deep expertise in enterprise-scale data architecture, warehousing, and integration. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience, a proven track record of leading complex projects, and expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Azure native data services.

This senior role will be pivotal in defining, designing, and overseeing the implementation of highly scalable, robust, and secure data solutions on Azure, ensuring strategic alignment, technical excellence, and the successful delivery of business-critical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Architectural Leadership

• Lead the definition of enterprise data architecture strategies and roadmaps on Microsoft Azure, aligned to business objectives and technology vision.
• Design and oversee end-to-end Azure data solutions, encompassing ingestion, transformation, storage, consumption, and analytics.
• Provide architectural oversight for multiple projects, ensuring adherence to standards, best practices, and security compliance.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate Azure services and third-party tools to address current and future data needs.
• Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Azure Data Platform Expertise (Expert Level)

• Design and implement solutions leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Event Hubs, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Purview.
• Optimize solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish strong data governance, security, and compliance frameworks in Azure.
• Drive adoption of advanced Azure features for data management and analytics.

Data Modeling & Governance

• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models for enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms on Azure.
• Implement data cataloging, lineage, and governance using Azure Purview.
• Enforce standards for data quality, consistency, and metadata management.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to evolve data models in line with requirements.

Data Access Management & Security

• Design robust data access management strategies across Azure services.
• Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), and Azure Active Directory integrations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, using encryption at rest and in transit.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineering and data teams.
• Lead design reviews and architectural decision-making processes.
• Promote best practices for data solution scalability, maintainability, and performance.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and executives.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business value.
• Build cross-functional relationships to ensure cohesive delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 12+ years of progressive experience in data architecture and solution design, with a strong focus on large-scale Azure data platforms.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Lead/Senior Solution Architect in enterprise Azure environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in Azure Synapse, ADF, ADLS, Databricks, and Purview.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, lakehouse architectures, ETL/ELT design, and real-time data processing.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and scripting for automation and orchestration.
• Proven experience implementing RBAC/ABAC and governance frameworks in Azure.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

This is an offshore remote opportunity, allowing you to work remotely while actively contributing to projects in the Middle East.
