Senior Performance Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to join a leading financial services organisation in Melbourne. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-volume, critical environments and is passionate about ensuring systems operate at peak performance.

You will play a key role in monitoring, analysing, and improving the performance of large-scale enterprise platforms, proactively identifying potential issues and driving improvements before they impact customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and enhance performance across high-volume, business-critical platforms
• Analyse system behaviour under load to identify bottlenecks, risks, and optimisation opportunities
• Utilise advanced performance monitoring and control tools to improve system outcomes
• Proactively detect performance issues and implement improvements
• Champion performance engineering best practices and promote adoption of performance tools across teams
• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to ensure scalable and resilient system performance

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in performance engineering within high-volume, critical load environments
• Strong background working with complex, enterprise-scale systems
• Hands-on experience with performance monitoring, analysis, and optimisation tools
• Demonstrated ability to drive measurable performance improvements
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence technical decisions
• Experience in banking or financial services is highly desirable
