Security Clearance Required for this role:

  • Must have a Current NV1 security clearance.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • This will be an Office based role in Canberra.
  • ITAR - You will be required to comply with the US International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) as the candidate may need to handle export-controlled ICT (hardware and software) products. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed project plans for Navy platforms, ensuring alignment with key stakeholder requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with stakeholders, including NSG-SPO, ISSC, NI&IWB, and more.
  • Facilitate the approval process for Request for Problem Resolution (RPR) and support project deployment planning.
  • Collaborate closely with Installation and Engineering Managers to meet project timelines and deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate engineering risks while providing strategic, specialist advice.
  • Develop engineering control processes and project documentation.
  • Prepare and manage project costs, including conducting due diligence on contractor quotes.

Must have Required Skills and Experience:

  • Essential: Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Essential: Proven experience as a Systems Engineer within Defence, particularly with Navy Platforms.
  • Essential: Familiarity with Navy AD514 Engineering processes.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in planning and executing technical project delivery.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in the Defence Maritime Environment.
  • Knowledge of Defence Capability Lifecycle Projects.
  • Experience with SEA2273 and working with Ship Class SPOs and ISSCs.
  • Background in Military, APS, or Defence contracting.
