Nike seeks a Art Director for Retail Story Design:

An innovator, who will support and develop consumer led retail concepts and the evolution of the Nike retail business. A strategic, collaborative, and creative team leader, who will develop impactful / scalable design solutions for immersive retail environments and experiences. Always looking to expand the possibilities of immersive environments to create design solutions that reflect Nike’s design ethos and improve the consumer retail experience. You drive design excellence and collaboration across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that the team deliver holistic creative against a long-term strategy. You have a track record of innovative use of emerging technology to build impactful spaces, consumer engagement and interaction. You can work across several design subject areas such as Environmental Graphic Design, Fixtures, Materials and Digital with ease. You can ideate creative concepts, illustrate your ideas and be hands on as you lead projects to completion. Leads project from connect to delivery. 

WHO THEY WILL WORK WITH

Under the direction of a Senior Director for Story Design, lead projects to realize innovative, original retail displays and digital solutions for retail environments. This role provides leadership development and design direction to junior level designers. They will collaborate with internal and external teams to complete multiple projects by using design processes and standard methodologies to ensure the creative intent, timelines and budgets are met. 

WHAT THEY WILL BRING

If this is you, you will create, refine, and evolve non-seasonal retail storytelling across the full Nike stores portfolio. This position requires a forward-thinking leader, a detail-oriented graphic and environments design-minded creative, that builds creative direction for design development and generates implementation standards for consistent execution throughout projects. You will manage a team to develop the right approach for each project, factoring in the needs of the Consumer, the Brand, and our business partners. You will communicate and present design concepts and create presentation materials that optimally communicate design intent, as well as produce project production files when required.

WHAT THEY BRING

  • Minimum of 8 years of brand design experience demonstrating creative sophistication in concepts and design/visual communications; includes at least 3 years of management experience.
  • Bachelors/master’s degree in graphic design, architecture, interior design, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Retail industry experience preferred, retail environments, concepts, and programs. International experience beneficial.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills including meeting facilitation and presentations. Strong ability to effectively communicate complex and/or sensitive topics and concepts to senior creative team.
  • Ability to sketch design ideas and visually communicate concept development through ideation.
  • Passion for current trends in Technology, Design, Art, Interactive and Experience Design.
  • Can-do attitude with proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality.
