Title: Product Designer - Specialized 5

Location: Beaverton, OR

Duration: 6-month contract

NIKE, Inc. does more than outfit the world's best athletes. It is a place to explore potential, obliterate boundaries, and push the edges of what can be. We look for people who can grow, think, dream, and create. Our culture thrives by embracing diversity and rewarding imagination. We seek achievers, leaders, and visionaries — people who bring skill and passion to a challenging, constantly evolving game.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will work closely with color teams, developers, merchandisers, project managers, and other cross-functional partners on all cleated footwear products, including training and golf footwear.

Your work will span the full product lifecycle — from conception to retail — focused on research and development that meets the needs of accounts and consumers. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Ideation & Visioning: Generate new ways of thinking about performance-based products that drive growth opportunities and competitive advantages. Collaborate with product creation teams to develop new product concepts across all Nike business units.
  • Research & Engineering: Define testing protocols and establish scope to prove and validate concepts. Leverage deep knowledge of consumer, business, and performance requirements to develop advanced product concepts using new technologies and construction processes. Engineer prototypes and identify key materials and construction processes.
  • Project Management: Lead innovation projects from concept to reality by working with multi-disciplinary teams including product creation, manufacturing, and third-party vendors. Tackle complex challenges with imaginative, state-of-the-art approaches backed by feasible solutions.
  • Communication: Synthesize reports and create final documentation to inform internal stakeholders on new innovations. Clearly communicate best practices and knowledge to support the transition of technology into product. Recognized externally as an industry expert.
