Title: Sr Data Engineer
Location: Salem, OR
Duration: 9 months contract

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Establish database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables
- Design conceptual and logical database structures, capacity planning, and external data interface specifications
- Develop data loading plans, data maintenance plans, and security policies
- Document and communicate database design to stakeholders
- Evaluate and install database management systems
- Code complex programs and derive logical processes on technical platforms
- Build windows, screens and reports for data visualization and analysis
- Assist in the design of user interface and business application prototypes
- Participate in quality assurance and develop test application code in client server environment
- Devise, negotiate and defend the tables and fields provided in the database
- Adapt business requirements developed by modeling/development staff and systems engineers
- Develop data specifications, database specifications, and table and element attributes for applications
- Analyze client's original data and storage mechanisms to understand data requirements
- Determine appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization
- Define how tables relate to each other and how fields interact within tables for relational models
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5-10 years of data engineering experience required
- Work history in Finance preferred
- Strong expertise in:
- Databricks
- Apache Spark
- Python programming
- Snowflake data platform
- Exceptional SQL skills
- Experience with database management systems and data architecture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
