Title: Community Management, Specialist, Nike Flagship and Nike Sportswear

Location: Beaverton, OR

Duration: 8 months contract

BECOME A PART OF THE NIKE, INC TEAM

NIKE, Inc. does more than outfit the world's best athletes. It is a place to explore potential, obliterate boundaries and push out the edges of what can be. The company looks for people who can grow, think, dream and create. Its culture thrives by embracing diversity and rewarding imagination. The brand seeks achievers, leaders and visionaries. At Nike, it’s about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.

In Nike Global Digital Marketing, our role is to connect athletes with the best of Nike and to elevate their world. We do this at the pace of sport & culture in the places & spaces that matter to them most. This team delivers disruptive digital strategies that deliver consumer value by maximizing brand concepts in service of making athlete dreams real.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Community Manager for Nike Flagship and Nike Sportswear. This role sits at the intersection of culture, conversation, and craft within sport and sportswear culture. The Community Management Specialist is responsible for actively seeking out, participating in, and shaping conversations across @Nike and @Nikesportswear workstreams; you will be our voice across the biggest moments in sport, seasonal campaigns, and any on-going community engagement opportunities. All we ask is that you are authentic, timely, and athlete-led in how you show up and, for NSW in particular, a font of knowledge when it comes to counter-culture and streetwear.

The ideal candidate is passionate about sport (all sport!) and sportswear, sneaker culture and emerging trends in fashion. You should have great writing skills, a good sense of humour, and genuinely love seeking out the next meaningful conversation online.

We’re looking for someone who has a finger on the pulse of sport, culture, and youth and who will bring ideas for how Nike can connect and deliver consumer value.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll work within the Global Digital Marketing team and perform a critical supporting role to our daily offense across social, helping to deliver disruptive ideas to ignite the brand as well as orchestrating digital experiences to drive growth across footwear and apparel.

You will work closely with and in support of the Global Digital Marketing Leads & Experts on larger scale marketing plans. You will attend and contribute to meetings with cross-functional and geo partners to represent the digital conversation in the development and execution of our marketing plans.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

We’re a diverse, inclusive, innovative, and passionate team. This role will report to the Global Social Media Director for Nike, and the Sr Director Global Digital Marketing, Nike Sportswear. As a matrixed organization, you will also work closely and collaboratively Global Brand Management, Integrated Media, Social, Comms, Sports Marketing, and Creative, in Global as well as with Geography partners in North America, APLA, Greater China and EMEA. As needed, you will work with agencies to bring work to life.

@Nike also shows up across multiple platforms, and there is an expectation to drive meaningful conversation across these channels too; inclusive of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Threads.

WHAT YOU BRING

You will bring a desire to be part of a fast-paced, high energy, skilled team of digital marketers who have a passion for sport and crafting meaningful connections between consumers and the Nike brand. You have a strong understanding of digital marketing/storytelling and sport culture.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • 3+ years of social and community management experience
  • Expertise and knowledge of youth culture, athlete mindset, and a genuine excitement and passion for sport culture (Nike).
  • Fluent in the language, rituals, and motivations of different style communities and know how to enter conversation in ways that add value, spark thought, and invite participation (Sportswear).
  • Extremely confident writer with a natural, human voice; but able to take on the tone of our brand and switch according to channel and placement.
  • Ideally with experience of key tools such as Airtable, Keynote & Figma.
  • Great interpersonal skills, teamwork mentality and ability to work well with many different partners across brand, creative, paid media, retail, social & comms.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbally.
  • An agile mentality and ability to work in a high pace, evolving environment.
  • Strong social listening instincts with the ability to find the right conversation, not just respond to mentions.
  • Ability to engage thoughtfully in conversations that are provocative, motivational, or insight-led, without feeling brand forward.
  • Sharp eye for athlete and community content.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills - able to spot patterns, themes, and cultural signals across conversation.
  • Comfortable working independently in fast moving social environment while collaborating X-functionally.
  • Clear understanding of social platform, engagement mechanics, reposting best practices, and community norms.
