WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Concept Creator/3D Printing Operator– Additive Apparel is a key contributor in merging apparel manufacturing expertise with advanced additive technologies. This role focuses on operating and maintaining 3D printers to produce garments (Lamina) or garment components (3D print on fabric for “Speed”), ensuring precision and quality throughout the process. As the field evolves from creating components to full garments, this position plays a critical role in shaping the future of apparel innovation.
Core Responsibilities
- 3D Printing Operations
- Set up, calibrate, and operate 3D printers for apparel applications.
- Monitor printing processes, troubleshooting issues, and maintain equipment performance.
- Prototype Development
- Support the transformation of creative concepts into production-ready solutions.
- Translate 2D designs into scalable 3D models and physical prototypes using advanced tools and machinery.
- Innovation & Collaboration
- Act as an ideation thought partner with design and concept design engineering teams.
- Drive innovative problem-solving through iterative trials, digital modeling, and research into emerging construction methods.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Key Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in 3D printing technologies.
- Understanding pattern making and apparel manufacturing methodologies.
- Knowledge of apparel construction and material properties
- Understanding of apparel design and development
- Basic pattern knowledge
- Experience with software such as Optitex, 3D, Outlook, Adobe, Illustrator
- Strong organization skills, time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work on variety of industrial sewing equipment
