WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Color Design Execution
You will plan and execute color designs while collaborating with design, product marketing, development and material consultants to focus color solutions for market success. You'll review all samples to achieve marketable solutions and clearly communicate changes for final confirmation. This role requires advanced knowledge in all phases of product execution and maintaining color calendars, timelines, and deadlines for timely product completion.
Color Solutions
Create innovative, retailable color solutions for category or gender-specific lines. Research and deliver color, design, market and lifestyle trends that influence the product category process from briefing to concept to samples. Partner with Category and Design Directors to create and lead color merchandising strategies and seasonal stories.
Consumer Research
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of consumer and brand-positioning needs. Utilize knowledge of consumer culture to improve product performance and appearance. Apply strong knowledge of competitor products, retail habits, color, and market trends to develop consumer-focused color solutions.
Presentations & Communication
Present category-specific color direction and merchandising strategies to appropriate groups. Produce presentation materials that effectively communicate color direction related to consumer, product concepts and creative strategy. Participate in bi-annual category-specific color preparation for footwear color committees.
Skill Development
Advance the value of color to Nike by bringing high-level functional expertise in materials, special effects, technology, and advanced development. Educate and mentor junior designers while undertaking projects to enhance business, color, and design knowledge.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years directly relevant work experience
- Adobe suite fluency
- Experience working in fast-paced fashion environments
- Knowledge of color achievability and execution on range of substrates
- Process-oriented mindset with adaptability to changing business needs
