WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH (NORTH AMERICA SCOPE)

In this role, you will partner across Nike’s North America Planning organization and the broader cross‑functional offense, working closely with Sport Planning, EBP, Finance, North America General Managers, and key cross‑functional teams. You will drive the creation and delivery of top‑down financial targets for the North America Geography, both pre‑season and in‑season. You’ll collaborate with Sport teams to enable cross‑Sport trade‑off decisions that elevate consumer demand, strengthen margin, and optimize inventory and marketplace health across the NA ecosystem.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike is seeking a Lead Business Planner (BP), North America, who plays a pivotal role in defining, shaping, and delivering consumer demand across the Geography. This individual will own multi‑season revenue, receipt, and inventory plans for North America across a Sport for, Product Engine, Gender, and Channel to serve consumers with precision.

They build hypotheses grounded in data and insight, translating analysis into clear actions through sharp problem‑solving and critical thinking. They bring a deep understanding of the North America consumer, marketplace dynamics, product engines, and inventory levers—grounded in both qualitative and quantitative insights.

They are a collaborative partner who proactively builds strong relationships across both upstream and downstream functions. With strong financial and commercial acumen, they apply sound judgment to enable decision‑making and drive results.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in retail, planning, merchandising, or product management
  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate through clear, effective communication
  • Actively listens, synthesizes information, and advances work with cross‑functional partners
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication, analytical strength, and attention to detail
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret market data to inform the North America Operating Plan; assesses risk and solves problems to drive outcomes
  • Deep understanding of key retail metrics (Retail Sales, ST%, WOS, Inventory, Revenue, Margin) and ability to manipulate data efficiently
  • Commercial, entrepreneurial, and consumer‑forward mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training)

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:

You will lead North America’s multi‑season Operating Plan across Sport, Marketplace, and Gender dimensions, aligned with Consumer, Product Engine, and Geo strategies. You’ll set long‑range financial plans that reflect North America consumer demand and Sport priorities, and you’ll reconcile assortment plans with operating plans to align with Sport architecture.

Your top‑down financial targets for the Geography will guide Franchise/Style plans, financial forecasts, and end‑to‑end inventory forecasts—including liquidation and demand‑shaping plans. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Consumer, Product Engine, Finance, and Marketplace to align forecasts and communicate insights, results, and impacts to leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the multi‑season Operating Plan for North America across Sport and Product Engine dimensions
  • Adjust and align plans to Sport architecture based on NA targets, consumer trends, and in‑season actuals
  • Establish pre‑season top‑down financial targets (Consumer Demand, Revenue, Margin, Inventory) for North America by Gender, Sport, and Channel
  • Define location‑level (Geo, Channel, Sport) demand, revenue, receipt, and inventory plans
  • Identify and recommend cross‑Sport trade‑off actions to drive consumer demand, strengthen Nike and partner margin, and improve overall North America marketplace inventory health
