WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Role Overview

The Retail Project Manager is responsible for driving cross-functional execution across strategic retail initiatives. This role ensures complex projects move from strategy to implementation by building integrated workback schedules, aligning stakeholders, identifying risks, and keeping teams accountable to key milestones.

Success in this role requires exceptional organization, strong communication, and the ability to influence across multiple functions without direct authority. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity, and has experience partnering across merchandising, retail, marketing, visual merchandising, planning, operations, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Project Management

  • Lead end-to-end project management for retail initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Coordinate work across cross-functional teams including Retail, Merchandising, Marketing, Planning, Brand, Design, Operations, and Finance.
  • Facilitate recurring project meetings, document decisions, and drive follow-up actions.
  • Ensure alignment across stakeholders while maintaining momentum against key deliverables.

Workback Schedule Management

  • Develop and maintain detailed integrated workback schedules for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Define milestones, dependencies, decision gates, and critical paths.
  • Monitor progress against timelines and proactively address risks that may impact delivery.
  • Continuously update project plans as priorities evolve while maintaining visibility across leadership teams.

Execution Excellence

  • Drive operational rigor through clear project governance and consistent communication.
  • Track action items, owners, deadlines, and project health.
  • Escalate issues with proposed solutions and mitigation plans.
  • Support successful implementation of retail concepts, launches, seasonal initiatives, and strategic programs.

 Stakeholder Communication

  • Prepare executive-ready project updates, dashboards, and status reports.
  • Communicate project timelines, risks, and dependencies to leadership and partner teams.
  • Foster collaboration across global and geography teams to ensure alignment and accountability.

WHAT YOU BRING

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Project Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, program management, retail operations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects in a retail, consumer products, or apparel environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing and managing detailed workback schedules across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and navigate ambiguity with confidence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting global or multi-market retail organizations.
  • Familiarity with retail calendars, seasonal product launches, and store execution processes.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience creating executive dashboards and reporting.
