Title: DevOps Engineer

Your Role on the Team 

We are building and transforming a petabyte-class Data Lake that manages fast moving data and streams from eCommerce, retail and partner channels and powers the critical decisions that drive our business. This team is focused on building data intelligence tools and supporting data governance capabilities that will govern data inventory and control across the Data Lake.

  • Deploy vendor-supplied applications on AWS cloud for Data Intelligence tooling
  • Automate deployments using CI/CD techniques and IaaC
  • Work with stakeholders to baseline, troubleshoot and scale for system performance
  • Solution secure authentication/authorization workflow for system integrations and users
  • Develop functional that can run automatically and alert on failures
  • Implement tracing and observability for operational and support tasks
  • Work with AWS services
  • Integrate with Data Warehouse and Data Lakehouse technologies

  • Be a great teammate on an agile/SCRUM team that sets and meets goals. 
  • Leverage expert development skills and solid design skills to deliver reliable, scalable, performant solutions with modern tooling, data structures and algorithms. 
  • Work with Product Owners, Engineering Managers and Principal Engineers to deliver solutions that enable Nike's digital transformation 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years working on information technology or software systems that operate at scale
  • 2+ years developing and using AWS commercial cloud services
  • 2+ years with modern CI/CD patterns (e.g. Jenkins, Terraform, IaC, Github)
  • 1+ years in Data Technology domains
  • Moderate experience writing technical runbooks or user documentation
  • Some experience coding w/Python
  • BS/MS in CS, a related field or equivalent experience 

Ideal technical skills 

  • Experience with Data Intelligence tools – BigID, Collibra
  • Amazon AWS – EC2, RDS, S3, EMR, IAM, Cloudtrail, Cloudwatch, VPC/Subnets
  • Some experience developing REST APIs and web services
  • Python, Shell
  • Kubernetes administration
  • Docker, container-based deployments (ECS/Fargate, EKS)
