WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
We are looking for an experienced technical lead for an infrastructure team that manages GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and Artifactory for Nike. Our systems help business and technical users across the company, so excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills are important to the role. Working closely with product management, engineering, operations, and security teams, you will identify and resolve issues and inefficiencies in delivery. Key responsibilities include administering GitHub for thousands of Nike engineers, automating operations, and improving governance of the tool.
- Administer and configure GitHub Enterprise (SaaS) for hundreds of Nike engineering teams
- Provide excellent customer service to users (Nike employees and contractors) for the tools
- Help with administration and operations of other tools like Confluence, Jira, Crowd, and Artifactory.
- Lead projects on automation, standardization, and governance
- Break down large projects into sprints and drive execution.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Your team includes DevOps and infrastructure engineers, system administrators, and senior technical staff. Our users come from across the business, and you will work on initiatives with other engineers, project managers, product managers, and other technology leaders.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced engineer who has led other complex developer tooling at large enterprise scale. You should have experience using GitHub, CI/CD tools, and AWS.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of professional experience as a computer software programmer, system administrator, DevOps engineer, or infrastructure engineer.
- 2+ years of professional experience as a lead or senior member of technology team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with people in business and engineering roles.
- Experience programming or scripting with technologies like Linux Bash, Python, or Groovy.
- Experience working with Agile Scrum practices. Experience working with SAFE is helpful.
- Knowledge of software development tools like Jenkins, Terraform, Maven, Artifactory, GitHub, AWS Cloud Formation, and Docker.
- Proficient with Linux operating system and familiar with computer networking.
- Familiar with AWS cloud computing, including EC2, S3, load balancers, Lambdas, IAM security.
- Experience using observability tools like Splunk, New Relic, or SignalFx.
