Clinical Pharmacist - Grade 1 or 2

• Full Time, Permanent Contract
• 80 hours per fortnight - 80 hours per fortnight - Including an ADO every 4 weeks
• Rotational Clinical Pharmacist - 3 x 4-month-long rotations/year

Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.

We have an exciting opportunity for a friendly, caring and efficient pharmacist to join our dynamic and innovative team, as a full-time Grade 1 Pharmacist. Our department currently includes 18 pharmacists, 3 pharmacy interns, 7 pharmacy technicians and an administrative assistant.

The successful candidate will be well supported by the pharmacy team, to provide clinical pharmacy & medication management services to a diverse range of inpatient areas of our hospital, as part of our clinical pharmacist rotation program. They will also develop their supervision & education skills, with opportunities to supervise the practice of pharmacy interns & students on placement.

Our Pharmacy Service:

On weekdays our pharmacists team up with pharmacy technicians to provide services in our Dispensary (along with Hospital In The Home), Day Oncology (with some on-site chemotherapy manufacturing performed in our aseptic/cytotoxic suite), Emergency Department (with partnered pharmacist medication charting), Subacute/Rehabilitation/Geriatric Unit, Medical Ward, Surgical Ward, Operating Theatre & Perioperative Care Clinic, Intensive Care Unit and Inpatient Mental Health Unit. Our 3 pharmacy interns take responsibility (under pharmacist supervision) for services delivered to Paediatrics, Maternity/Special Care Unit & Dialysis Unit.

We currently provide a limited weekend service with 2 pharmacists on shift each Saturday morning, 2 pharmacists and a technician on public holidays, and 14 of our pharmacists currently share the on-call responsibilities outside business hours. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the weekend/public holiday/on call roster after a suitable period of orientation & training.
