Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.

NHW is seeking applications from Occupational Therapists who are team focused, enthusiastic and interested in pursuing opportunities to diversify and enhance their skills within a growing allied health team. As a team we are also looking to invest in Occupational Therapy students who are studying and looking for Allied Health Assistant (AHA) roles who may wish to work at North East Health in the future. New graduates, 3rd and 4th year students and are encouraged to apply.

The grade one therapist will participate in our rotational program which includes; acute (medical/surgical), inpatient rehabilitation and community services six months rotations which are supported by a senior Grade 2 therapist. We provide regular supervision, grade one peer support, new graduate allied health program and prioritise internal and external professional development opportunities. 

The primary role of the Grade 1 Occupational Therapist is to provide high quality client care through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, treatment and management of adult patients in their designated work area.

The Grade 1 OT will work with a collaboration of clients, their families and multidisciplinary staff, both across the organisation and with external service providers, and actively participate in supervision and continuing professional development.
