NHW is the major regional health service and specialist referral facility for Northeast Victoria. It serves a population of approximately 102,000, performs over 6,500 procedures a year and has over 19,000 inpatient episodes and 30,000 Emergency Department attendances a year and approximately 700 births per year. We have onsite radiology, pathology and blood bank service. NHW provides a wide range of acute specialist medical and surgical services, an emergency department, critical care unit (ICU, HDU, CCU), obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, specialised aged care, medical oncology services, community rehabilitation, inpatient, community, aged and psycho-geriatric mental health services.

Join a dynamic and supportive training environment as a Rehabilitation Registrar with Rehabilitation Medicine Training Victoria. This role offers a well-rounded experience across clinical care, service coordination, and professional development within a structured and collaborative program.
You will participate in six consultant-led ward rounds each week, alongside three case conferences that focus on patient management and multidisciplinary care. There is also the opportunity to attend outpatient clinics, providing valuable exposure across different stages of rehabilitation.
Beyond clinical duties, you will contribute to the coordination of patient flow, including admissions and discharges, and take part in planning meetings that shape service delivery. The role encourages active involvement in education and quality improvement, with weekly journal club sessions, rotating presentations, and dedicated Wednesday afternoon teaching through the RMTV program. You will also attend monthly quality meetings and quarterly morbidity and mortality meetings, while supporting the assessment and development of junior doctors.
Importantly, this position offers excellent work-life balance with no on-call, after-hours, or weekend commitments.
