NHW have a rare internal opportunity for a collaborative, efficient, action-focused and results-driven pharmacist to provide full-time leave cover in the role of Medication Safety and Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist (Grade 2).
Job details:
You'll act as a pharmacy department representative and subject matter expert on relevant working groups and committee/s, commensurate with your experience, expertise and development goals.
You will also provide education to colleagues, other health professionals and patients, supervise intern pharmacists and pharmacy students, monitor and report on organisation-wide medication safety and antimicrobial stewardship risks and performance, and participate in quality improvement activities and research. Weekend and on call roster participation is expected, and your generalist clinical pharmacist experience and knowledge will provide a solid foundation upon which to build your capability in this organisation-wide role.
The successful candidate will be well supported by colleagues and pharmacy technicians, and will lead the ongoing management and implementation of our medication safety program and antimicrobial stewardship programs. Consistent with the requirements under Standard 4 – Medication Safety and Standard 3 – Infection Prevention standards from the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, the successful candidate will ensure compliance with the above standards by overseeing audit, measurement, response to reported incidents via Riskman and education for NHW staff.
