NHW have an exciting internal opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to work in the role of Clinical Nurse Consultant – Acute Pain Service (APS) to cover leave.
The primary role of the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Acute Pain Service is to assist in the coordination and the ongoing development and delivery of the Acute Pain Service at Northeast Health Wangaratta.
This role requires the Clinical Nurse Consultant to work closely with the anaesthetic department to determine and implement appropriate pain management plans for patients under the care of the Acute Pain Service (APS). Patients referred to the APS will usually require advanced pain modalities and/or complex pain assessment and management.
This role also requires close liaison with other medical, nursing and allied health teams.
The applicant will also be involved in audit activities and ongoing data collection and will be required to assist in the review of associated pain management guidelines and policies.
The applicant must be confident and willing to provide education to nursing staff, and pain management clinical support at the bedside (such as setting up infusions / PCAs etc), as required.
