About the Role

Join a product focused engineering team building student facing applications with modern JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, and AWS serverless. You will contribute across the stack with an immediate focus on backend services. The team values engineers who communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, operate with minimal guidance, and take ownership from design through delivery.

 Responsibilities of the role

• Design, build, and maintain serverless microservices and APIs using Node.js and AWS
• Deliver full stack features with TypeScript, Node.js, and React
• Implement data quality and automation solutions on AWS, including event driven workflows
• Create unit, integration, and automation test suites that run in CI
• Define and document technical designs, patterns, and best practices
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize services for reliability, security, and cost
• Improve developer experience and testing frameworks alongside core development
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and cross functional collaboration 

 Qualifications needed for the role 

• Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience
• Strong hands on expertise with JavaScript ES6+, TypeScript, and Node.js beyond assembling npm packages
• Deep experience with AWS serverless services including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS or SQS, CloudWatch, and Redshift Serverless
• Proven experience designing and monitoring microservices in production
• Working experience with React on the frontend
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and object oriented design
• Practical experience with Agile, CI CD, and DevOps best practices
• Proficiency using AI coding assistants and autonomous agents to accelerate development and testing, with rigorous validation and full technical ownership of code
• Demonstrated experience building automation test suites
• Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code

 Preferred skills and attributes for the role 

• Experience with AWS KMS, OpenSearch, Route 53, and VPC
• Fluency with CI CD toolsets such as CloudFormation, GitHub, and Ansible
• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation or similar tooling
• Ability to design, build, refactor, and monitor scalable and reusable services that handle high frequency data
• Curiosity and appetite to learn new domains and technologies
• Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code and GenAI topics
• A true scrum team mindset with willingness to support the team wherever needed

Education and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Relevant AWS or other professional certifications are a plus

• Comfort working remotely as a self starter who can hit the ground running

 Pay Rate Range: $80-$90 per hr (Depending on Experience)
