Project Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical development and sourcing of packaging solutions that align with the company’s business objectives. Your role will involve working closely with multiple teams, including Engineering, Product Development, Creative, and Sales, to ensure packaging meets the needs of both new products and updates to existing ones. You will help drive the design, selection, and implementation of packaging materials and processes, ensuring that they are both functional and cost-effective while supporting the overall brand and product goals. Collaboration with various departments will be key to making sure the packaging meets quality standards, sustainability goals, and market demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing close collaboration with the customer development team by providing support with specifications, technical data, test results, and other necessary information (Existing)
- Provide project management support to the Product Development team for both new and ongoing projects, ensuring timelines, resources, and deliverables are properly managed and tracked.
- Provide ongoing support for projects focused on continuous improvement, ensuring progress, addressing challenges, and implementing enhancements to optimize processes or products.
- Prepare initial drafts of packaging technical documents, including the Product Performance Qualification (PQP) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), to outline quality standards and assess potential risks in the packaging process.
- Review technical drawings and conduct tolerance stack analysis to ensure that all parts and components fit together correctly and meet design specifications without interfering with each other.
- Drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the processes you handle, creating clear, step-by-step instructions, best practices, and protocols to ensure tasks are performed consistently, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

- Customer and Stakeholder Satisfaction: Meeting or exceeding the expectations of internal and external stakeholders, including the Product Development team, sales teams, and customers, with each project or product update.
- Documentation and Reporting: Consistently maintaining clear, organized, and up-to-date documentation for all aspects of the packaging development process.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles, allowing for effective design, sourcing, and problem-solving in packaging projects.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, track progress, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Skill in working effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, and Sales) to achieve shared goals and resolve any challenges that arise.
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, to share ideas, technical information, and updates with both internal teams and external partners.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to assess complex technical issues, identify potential risks, and develop data-driven solutions to improve processes and outcomes.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Proactive in identifying issues or challenges and developing effective, innovative solutions to overcome obstacles and meet project objectives.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail in reviewing technical documents, designs, and specifications to ensure accuracy and prevent errors in packaging development.
- Adaptability & Flexibility: Ability to adjust to changing project requirements or business needs and remain effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Quality Focus: A commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of packaging development, from design to production, ensuring that products meet both internal and external requirements.

Pay Range $38-$43/Hr Depending on experience
