As the CHPP Coal Quality Coordinator you will be responsible for the quantity and quality of product during all stages of production and transport. The role involves monitoring, evaluating and improving coal preparation and sampling to ensure quality specifications and recovery targets are met, consumable consumption is minimised and operational availability is maximised.
What you will do:
- Ensure coal sampling and analysis is undertaken to the required standard and monitor the integrity of sampling systems as required
- Develop daily and weekly wash plans in conjunction with Production and Technical Service departments
- Confirm ROM coal tonnages, equipment availability and identify short term plant requirements to meet operational requirements
- Liaise with relevant departments to provide correct coal for rail and shipping schedule
- Manage suppliers & consultants in the areas of coal processing, coal sampling and plant consumables, ensuring they are delivering the desired outcomes
- Ensure compliance and continuous improvement at the CHPP as well as coaching and mentoring of employees.
- Monitors and reports planned daily, weekly and monthly actual performance against budgeted performance to the senior management team
To be considered for this opportunity you will possess:
- RII Supervisory Qualifications (Preferred)
- Previous experience in processing plant operations for example coal or minerals is essential
- Experience with managing tailings dams
- Practical experience with a hands-on approach
- Intermediate Computer skills – Microsoft Suite, with the ability to learn new programs
- Previous experience in contractor management
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all levels of the organisation
