The Opportunity

Due to operational growth, we are seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our CHPP Reliability team. Reporting to the CHPP Reliability Specialist, you will be a key driver in enhancing the performance of our fixed plant assets. Leveraging data insights and sound engineering principles, you will lead efforts to improve equipment reliability, minimise downtime, and embed a proactive approach to asset reliability across the CHPP.

This is a Monday–Friday, residential-based position, offering a lifestyle-friendly work arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to a stable and respected mining operation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse equipment performance and data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination (DE) investigations.
  • Develop and optimise asset strategies, including condition monitoring and life cycle plans.
  • Support the planning and execution of maintenance shutdowns and component replacements.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, OEMs and specialist contractors to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Use reliability analysis methods to develop business cases supporting improvement and capital decisions.
  • Champion reliability best practice and build capability across the business.

Qualifications and experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Diploma or Advanced Diploma accepted).
  • Proven experience with fixed plant maintenance within the mining environment.
  • Experience leading failure investigations and defect elimination initiatives.
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills.
  • Exposure to maintenance management systems (experience with Pulse is advantageous, but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.

What we offer

Bengalla values its people and their contribution to the operation. Our well-established employee benefits program offers choice and flexibility to enhance the lifestyle and wellbeing of our team. With benefits including subsidised health insurance, salary packaging, self-education assistance, salary continuance and gym memberships we make the health, safety, and well-being of our people our absolute priority.

This is a great opportunity to join the professional and friendly team at Bengalla Mining Company and opportunities such as this are few within the region.
