EFT/Hours: 0.6 EFT (48 Hours Per Fortnight)
Status: Permanent Part Time
Hourly Rate: $31.8000 - $48.9132 plus 12% superannuation
AHP2 - Community Development Worker Class I to Class II (dependent on qualifications and experience)
About the Role
NCN Health is seeking a Health Promotion and Community Development Officer to join our Cobram Team. The Health Promotion and Community Development Officer are responsible for leading and coordinating the sustainable and efficient delivery of health promotion and community engagement activities aimed to support and improve the health and wellbeing of people across the NCN Health catchment.
The role includes planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion and community development activities in the local community, working in partnership with other Health Promotion and Community Development workers across NCN Health and other external agencies. The role is also responsible for external communication, writing and compiling applications for small grants and maintenance of the Health Promotion electronic media.
The Health Promotion and Community Development Officer will also support the development and implementation of community development activities including supporting the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee and other initiatives including gender equity, prevention of family violence and inclusion.
About You
- Vaccination against seasonal Influenza (mandatory)
- Vaccination against Covid-19 (recommended)
- Tertiary qualification in health promotion, public health, health sciences, community development or related field.
- Previous experience in the delivery of health promotion services or demonstrated knowledge of current health promotion issues and trends.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and evaluate community-based health promotion activities.
- Experience in liaising and working with a variety of community groups to support community development.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health Promotion and/or Community Development principles and frameworks
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Competent in using Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and well-developed computer skills and experience.
