Selfco is growing, and we're looking for a confident, commercially minded Credit Analyst in Sydney to join our high-performing team. If you’re coming from the automotive finance world and are ready to step into the commercial lending space, this is an exciting opportunity to broaden your skillset while working in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing risk with opportunity, can think on their feet, and thrives in an environment where no two applications look the same.
About the Role
As a Credit Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in assessing, analysing, and approving broker‑introduced asset finance applications. You’ll be the steady hand ensuring our lending decisions are sound, policy-aligned, and commercially considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and prepare new finance applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness before entering them into the Selfco system.
- Conduct the full suite of checks—ABN, ASIC, Equifax and other supporting searches.
- Assess borrower bank statements, with a focus on creditworthiness, servicing capacity, and cash flow.
- Determine risk profiles using credit scoring, policy guidelines, and Selfco’s credit appetite.
- Analyse cash flow via bank statements.
- Review loan security and collateral offered.
- Make well‑reasoned credit decisions within your delegated authority.
- Prepare high‑quality credit submissions with risk analysis for the Credit Manager when required.
- Partner closely with brokers to understand the deal, clarify requirements and structure applications effectively.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Sales, Document Prep and Settlements.
- Communicate credit decisions professionally and constructively.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across our credit processes.
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience in low doc lending and the ability to make commercial decisions with limited information.
- 3+ years' experience in credit analysis, ideally within asset finance or commercial lending.
- Strong capability in credit risk assessment and loan structuring.
- Working knowledge of Australian lending regulations and compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision‑making skills.
- Clear and confident communication skills with the ability to influence and build rapport.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Cashflow lending experience is advantageous (but not essential).
