The Automation Developer will sit within a growing Technology Automation and Integration function, where automation needs to work in the real world, securely, reliably, and at scale.

Location: Hobart | Permanent

At MyState, we’re focused on making complex processes simpler, more reliable and fit for scale. As we move through a significant period of merger and integration, we’re expanding our automation capability and looking for an Automation Developer to help reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and support the way the organisation operates day to day.

The role

You’ll be hands-on designing, building and supporting automation across RPA, workflows and scripting. Working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams, you’ll translate real-world processes into secure, supportable automation solutions that deliver measurable value.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, wants to deepen their automation capability, and is interested in working alongside broader integration and platform initiatives.

What you’ll do

  • Analyse business processes and translate requirements into practical, well-designed automation solutions
  • Design, build and support automations that reduce manual work and improve reliability
  • Maintain and enhance existing automations with a strong focus on stability, quality and supportability
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of automation standards, patterns and ways of working

What you’ll bring

  • 3–5 years’ experience in automation or application development/support
  • Experience designing and supporting production-grade automations using RPA tools, workflow engines and/or scripting (UiPath experience is highly valued)
  • A solid understanding of SDLC practices, including documentation, testing and operational support
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A practical, curious mindset and a desire to continuously improve how things are done

Why MyState?

  • A values-led, Tasmanian-based organisation
  • Genuine opportunity to build depth and maturity in automation
  • Meaningful, hands-on work during a major integration phase

If you enjoy building automation that stands up in production and want to grow alongside a maturing capability, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply here by Monday 18th May 2026.

Employment with MyState is subject to background checks including Bankruptcy, Police, and Credit checks to verify your suitability to work in the finance sector. We are an equal opportunity employer, committed to creating an inclusive work environment where everyone is valued.
