We're seeking an experienced Financial Crime Specialist to join our Risk team and play a key role in protecting the organisation from financial crime risks. This is a strategic Line 2 role responsible for overseeing and enhancing our AML/CTF Part B Program, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, and driving continuous improvement across customer identification and financial crime controls.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager Fraud & Financial Crime & AML Officer, you will:

  • Lead the ongoing management and enhancement of MyState's AML/CTF Part B Program.
  • Oversee customer identification (KYC/ACIP) requirements, practices and assurance activities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure policies, procedures and controls remain compliant and effective.
  • Conduct assurance reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and remediation.
  • Provide expert advice, training and guidance on AML/CTF obligations across the business.
  • Prepare insightful reporting for senior management, committees and the Board.
  • Support regulatory engagements, audits and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor internal fraud risks and oversee appropriate escalation and remediation activities.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Extensive experience in AML/CTF, financial crime or compliance oversight, ideally within financial services.
  • Deep knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, regulatory obligations and customer identification requirements.
  • Strong investigation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining compliance, risk or assurance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive remediation outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Relevant qualifications in Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime or a related discipline.
