The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Collections Officer to join our Norwest team. This is a deliberately team-based environment, designed to support hands-on learning, real-time coaching, and strong collaboration.

You’ll be managing early-stage arrears (1–60 days) across a specialist asset finance portfolio, working closely with brokers and SME customers to achieve practical, sustainable outcomes. You’ll be surrounded by experienced colleagues, with the opportunity to build your capability quickly through exposure and support.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Proactively managing arrears through outbound customer conversations
  • Reviewing contracts, payouts and statements to understand account positions
  • Handling customer concerns with empathy and professionalism
  • Supporting SME customers navigating real-world cost pressures
  • Working across broker-introduced asset finance structures
  • Learning directly from a Senior Collections Officer, with clear development pathways

Being in the office together matters for this role—it enables faster learning, stronger relationships, and immediate support when navigating complex situations.

What Success Looks Like

You’re confident on the phone, commercially aware, and comfortable having constructive conversations with customers in a respectful and solutions-focused way.

You’ll likely bring:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in collections, credit or financial services
  • Exposure to commercial or asset finance (broker experience highly regarded)
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation and complaint-handling skills
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions and continuously improve
