The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager Enterprise & Operational Risk, this 24-month fixed-term contract offers the opportunity to lead MyState's Operational Risk Assurance Program and play a critical role in strengthening our control environment, operational resilience, and risk maturity.
Working closely with senior leaders across the Group, you'll provide independent assurance and challenge, helping ensure operational risks are effectively identified, managed and monitored.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing the enterprise-wide Operational Risk Assurance Plan.
- Leading assurance reviews and control testing across key operational risk areas.
- Providing independent Line 2 challenge on control effectiveness, operational resilience, incident management and remediation activities.
- Presenting assurance findings, insights and recommendations to Executive leaders, the Enterprise Risk Committee and Board Committees.
- Monitoring and validating remediation actions to ensure sustainable risk outcomes.
- Leading reviews arising from incidents, breaches and risk events to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Managing the Group's corporate insurance program, including renewals, broker engagement and claims oversight.
- Supporting the ongoing enhancement of risk frameworks, policies and standards.
- Driving risk awareness, capability uplift and a strong risk culture across the organisation.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a seasoned risk, assurance or audit professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, influencing outcomes and driving meaningful improvement.
You'll bring:
- Significant experience in operational risk, assurance, audit or risk management within banking, insurance, financial services or another highly regulated environment.
- Proven experience delivering assurance programs and assessing control effectiveness across complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of APRA prudential standards, including CPS 220, CPS 230 and CPS 234.
- Experience supporting operational resilience, risk governance or control uplift initiatives.
- Strong analytical and reporting capability, including advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- The confidence to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Experience preparing reporting and presenting outcomes to executive, committee and board-level audiences.
