We are seeking an experienced Operational Assurance Manager Lead to join our Risk, Legal and Compliance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager Enterprise and Operational Risk, this role provides independent second line assurance across the Group. You will lead the development and delivery of the operational risk assurance plan and provide clear, practical insight into the effectiveness of key controls.

This is a high visibility role with regular engagement with senior leaders, the Enterprise Risk Committee and Board Committees.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and deliver the enterprise-wide operational risk assurance plan
  • Provide independent challenge on operational risk controls, resilience and incident management
  • Present assurance outcomes and recommendations to senior management and Board Committees
  • Monitor remediation actions to ensure control gaps and risk events are addressed effectively
  • Lead assurance activity arising from breaches and operational risk events
  • Manage the Group’s corporate insurance programme, including renewals and claims
  • Support risk capability uplift across the organisation through coaching and collaboration

What You Will Bring

  • Significant experience in banking, financial services or a similarly regulated environment
  • Strong background in operational risk assurance and control testing
  • Advanced knowledge of prudential standards including CPS 220, CPS 230 and CPS 234
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability, with advanced Excel skills
  • Confidence to influence, challenge and engage at senior leadership level
