This is a senior, enterprise critical leadership role responsible for leading MyState’s partnerships function across funding and deposit products. The role plays a central part in securing stable, diversified and cost-effective funding for the bank through a strong ecosystem of third-party partners.

This role exists to shape partnership strategy, strengthen commercial outcomes and ensure partner delivered products meet the highest standards of customer experience, risk management and regulatory compliance.
The Opportunity
As Head of Partnerships, you will lead MyState’s funding partnerships business, with accountability for strategy, commercial outcomes and partner performance. The role focuses primarily on the funding side of the balance sheet, including deposit and money market style partnerships, while requiring a solid understanding of lending to ensure alignment across the broader bank.
You will work closely with institutional, wholesale and senior national partners who offer MyState products to their own customers. Success in this role depends on strong commercial judgement, deep partnership experience and the ability to balance growth, cost of funds and conduct obligations.
This is a highly cross functional role with stakeholders across Product, Risk, Legal, Finance, Technology, Lending and Customer teams. You will also lead a dedicated partnerships team, currently based in Bundaberg, and play an active role in shaping how partnership capabilities evolve over time.
What You Will Be Accountable For
- Setting and leading the funding and deposit partnerships strategy for MyState
- Building and managing a portfolio of third party partnerships that deliver stable, diversified and sustainable funding
- Leading partner sourcing, negotiation and contracting, including commercial terms and performance measures
- Overseeing partner onboarding, governance and ongoing relationship management
- Ensuring strong risk management across all partnerships, including anti money laundering, counter terrorism financing and customer due diligence obligations
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure partnership products are well designed, competitive and appropriate for end customers
- Managing vendor relationships, contracts and service level agreements across the partnership portfolio
- Providing clear executive reporting on funding performance, partner health and emerging risks
- Building, leading and developing a high performing partnerships team with strong commercial and relationship capability
The Leader We Are Looking For
This role will suit a senior leader with deep experience in partnerships, funding or balance sheet related businesses within banking or financial services.
You are likely to bring:
- Experience leading partnerships, funding or institutional relationships within a bank or regulated financial institution
- Strong understanding of deposit products, funding markets and balance sheet considerations
- Working knowledge of lending products to ensure alignment across the customer and funding value chain
- Proven experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing long term partner relationships
- Strong understanding of regulatory, risk and compliance requirements, including anti money laundering obligations
- Experience leading teams and working across complex stakeholder environments
- Strong programme and delivery mindset, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel
You are commercially astute, risk aware and comfortable operating at senior executive level, while remaining hands on where required.
