At MyState Bank, we’re delivering one of the most significant transformation programs in our history. OneCore will introduce a single, modern core banking platform in partnership with our vendor simplifying how we operate and elevating how we serve our customers, following the merger of MyState Bank and Auswide Bank.

We’re looking for a Payments Business Lead to play a critical role in shaping the future of payments at MyState. This is a rare opportunity to take true ownership of a core banking domain within a high‑profile, enterprise‑wide transformation.

Location: Brisbane or Hobart

Initial 12-month contract

The Opportunity

As Payments Business Lead, you will act as the conduit between the business and delivery, ensuring payments capabilities are designed and implemented effectively. You’ll be accountable for decision‑making across the payments domain, championing initiatives by actively drawing on expertise from across the organisation.

You will own the payments stream end‑to‑end from design and requirements through to implementation, operational readiness, and transition. You’ll lead a team of subject matter experts (SMEs), taking an active role in their leadership, development, and recruitment.

Working at the intersection of business, technology, and change, you’ll influence outcomes that will define how MyState delivers payments into the future.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will:

• Own payments outcomes end‑to‑end, acting as a key decision‑maker within the program
• Serve as the primary link between business and delivery teams, ensuring alignment and execution
• Champion initiatives by engaging and leveraging knowledge from across the organisation
• Lead and support SMEs, including oversight, coaching, and involvement in recruitment
• Drive alignment across Technology, Risk, Operations, and delivery partners, including TCS
• Take a hands‑on role in communications, change, and training, advocating strongly for adoption
• Ensure solutions are operationally sound, strategically aligned, and transition‑ready
• Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and impacts across the payments domain

This role may require occasional travel to support delivery and stakeholder engagement.
