We’re looking for a Finance – Payroll Officer to join our friendly payroll team of three at MyState Limited, in Hobart.
MyState Limited is looking for a Finance – Payroll Officer to join our small, supportive payroll team of three based in Hobart. This is a part‑time role (4 days per week) offering genuine flexibility, while still giving you exposure to end‑to‑end payroll in a complex, regulated environment.
In this role, you’ll help ensure our people across the MyState Group are paid accurately, on time, and in line with legislative and organisational requirements. You’ll work closely with HR, leaders, and our payroll provider, playing an important role in maintaining data integrity and supporting a great employee experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting fortnightly payroll processing, including reviewing pay runs and resolving discrepancies
- Accurately loading employee changes such as starters, leavers, salary updates, allowances and leave
- Responding to payroll enquiries and providing clear, friendly advice on pay, leave, super and entitlements
- Assisting with payroll‑wide changes such as EA salary increases and allowance updates
- Preparing and distributing payroll reports, and supporting audit and compliance requirements
- Uploading superannuation and payroll tax data in a timely and compliant way
- Contributing to continuous improvement of payroll processes and controls

About you
- Experience using Chris21 or iChris (or a similar payroll system)
- Sound understanding of payroll processes and relevant legislation
- Strong attention to detail and respect for confidentiality
- A customer‑focused mindset and the ability to work well in a small team
