🛠️ What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting with set‑up, programming, and operation of CNC lathes and/or milling machines
- Manufacturing high‑precision components
- Performing routine machine maintenance and basic fault‑finding
- Overhauling gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and driveshafts
- Dismantling, cleaning, measuring, and assessing parts
- Supporting small machining jobs and general workshop activities
- Workshop upkeep and occasional local deliveries
✅ What we’re looking for:
This role is ideal for a current Year 12 student ready to start an Apprenticeship in January 2027. If you are looking to get a head start, you also have the flexibility to begin working immediately as a Trade Assistant.
- Previous work experieence or exposure to CNC machining (lathes and/or mills)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and safety‑focused
- Sound computer literacy
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
🎓 Training & Support:
You’ll be employed by MRAEL and supported by a dedicated Apprentice & Employment Consultant, providing:
- Ongoing mentoring and performance support
- Coordination of all off‑the‑job training
- Regular check‑ins to support your progress through to completion
