Are you a high school student looking to get a head start in the business and retail world? MRAEL, in partnership with Lawrence & Hanson, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated student to join the team as a School-Based Retail Trainee!

Lawrence & Hanson is a leading electrical wholesaler. This means you will be working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where no two days are the same. If you are willing to learn, our friendly team is committed to investing in your development and providing a safe, supportive space for you to grow.

What You Will Be Doing:

This hands-on role covers everything it takes to run a busy store. Your daily duties will include:

  • Customer Service: Greeting customers with a smile, helping them find what they need, serving them, and processing purchases through the system.
  • Stock Control: Unpacking deliveries and boxes, counting stock, stacking shelves, and packing products.
  • Computer Work: Handling basic data entry and completing your online training and induction modules.
  • Store Upkeep: Keeping the store looking its best by wiping shelves, sweeping, and organising stock.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous customer service experience (even a little bit!) is a big plus.
  • Basic computer skills to help you navigate the systems and online training.
  • This is a physical role! You must be physically fit and able to lift, move, and sort stock weighing 5–10kg unaided.
  • A positive, willing-to-learn attitude and the ability to keep up when the store gets busy.

Why Apply?

This traineeship is a fantastic gateway to a long-term career in retail or business management. You will earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and build real-world skills with a team that genuinely cares about your success.

Benefits on an Apprenticeship with MRAEL

  • Weekly wage
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated and supportive Apprentice and Employment Consultant
  • Access to our Apprentice Wellness Program – Investing in your Wellbeing from day one.

If this sounds like a role and a team you’d like to join, we would love to hear from you.

MRAEL are committed to supporting National Reconciliation efforts through the implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan, fostering respectful relationships and creating meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
