About the Role

Due to our continued growth/success, we are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Site Engineer - Electrical to join our national project teams, who will be responsible for the following:

1. PVsyst Modelling & Energy Yield Analysis

  • Develop and optimise PVsyst models for solar PV systems
  • Generate accurate energy yield reports in line with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Analyse PV performance data to validate and calibrate models.

2. Technical Support for Performance Testing

  • Support on-site commissioning and performance ratio (PR) testing activities.
  • Assist in developing testing protocols in line with IEC standards (e.g. IEC 61724, IEC 61829).
  • Interpret test results, compare against simulations, and flag underperformance or anomalies.
  • Support root cause analysis of system underperformance.

3. Engineering & Design Coordination

  • Collaborate with electrical design teams to ensure models reflect as-built and proposed designs.
  • Review and provide feedback on single line diagrams (SLDs), layout drawings, and inverter configurations.

4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Maintain a library of historical performance data and modelling assumptions for benchmarking.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated with advancements in PV system performance monitoring, modelling tools, and industry trends.
  • Support the improvement of internal modelling templates and testing methodologies.


About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following; 

  • Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years experience in Engineering design, ideally in solar farms or renewable energy.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD Electrical and power system analysis software.
  • Proficiency in using software tools specific to electrical and solar design.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to encourage co-workers.
  • Understand safety procedures and recognize hazards.
