About the Role

Due to our continued growth/success, we are looking for suitably qualified and experienced 'Senior Civil Estimator' to join our team in the head office.

  • Assist in the development of the tender strategy and ensure the tender is managed in a timely manner to allow adequate time for senior management review.
  • Attend tender reviews with senior management and ensure all action items are recorded and closed out.
  • Manage post-tender correspondence and respond to queries raised under the approval of the Pre-Contracts Manager.
  • Support the Pre-Contracts Manager and Commercial Manager in negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Lead or support bids from concept to completion.
  • Positively manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Mentor and share experiences with junior team members.
  • Identify risks and ensure all risks are recorded and accounted for within the tender.

About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following; 

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in estimating within the building and construction sector.
  • Demonstrated ability in comprehending and interpreting contractual documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in contract tendering procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing a wide range of renewable energy projects.
  • Highly proficient in estimating software such as Expert Estimating or equivalent.
  • Ability to schedule works using Microsoft Project or P6.
  • Strong technical writing skills for preparing technical submissions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced construction environment.
